These past days, God has shown me a few things that we should get rid of. Things that are not taken seriously these days by almost anyone of us.
Downloading movies, music and software illegally. Cracking operating software like Windows, other software like Office, Drawing software etc. These are just some of the things we do that doesn't seem that bad.
So me and my wife went through all of our computers, tablets, phones and we deleted everything we do not have a legal copy of.
There are cases where we take things from work places that would have ended up in the dustbin, but the company policy clearly say that it will be illegal to take home even if it was dumped in the rain to rust; or even printing personal documents without permission.
God shown me that we all have some kind of authority. Having knowledge in a field, gives us authority there and we can be fair or misuse it. High positions is a very big temptation to misuse these kind of authority. The knowledge to get something illegally with out being caught is a good example of misusing authority.
About two days ago, while me and my wife was inspecting our live about these situations, I decided to read Luke 3. God is so faithful, He always confirm what He shares (or convict) with us with His Word.
When God ask us to give up something, He doesn't necessary throw the whole list at us. I think He mostly starts with one thing, and then if we are willing to give it up. He will show the next thing. It is so important that we will be obedient to God if we want to live Holy.
A lot of times we have excuses like; they would have thrown it away anyway; we will buy the product if we like it; it wont harm anyone; its not like we have broken in and stole it; if they didn't want us to crack it, they should have protected it better; and the list go on. A good excuse wont open the heavens with God's blessings.
I had to stop helping people with certain jobs because God showed me that He wants to bless me but helping people to be dishonest wont give God the Glory for theses blessings. Sometimes we tell God, He should provide first if He wants us to live honest. But we should rather live without any before considering the gray line, it will eventually lead us to the dark.
Romans 13 : 1-14 is clear instruction to obey the law. If we can get away with steeling a car and we are sure we wont be caught. Will that make it right?
But the fruits of repentance is to live legally, then we will be Holy. Luke 3 : 8-14
God bless!!
Luke 3 : 8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
9 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
10 And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?
11 He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
12 Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?
13 And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.
14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
Romans 13 : 1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
